Pyrgetos

Pyrgetos is a village in the prefecture of Larissa in the Municipality of Tempi. It is located at the eastern foot of Kato Olympus and is 36 km from Larissa. The Lower Olympus and Ossa Mountains have been designated as Corine Habitat, while the nearby Pinios Delta is classified as Natura and Corine Habitat. Dense vegetation of fruit trees, small thickets and bushes surround the village. At Livadi there are remains of a bridge of Venetian construction.

Holy Monastery of Saints Raphael, Nicholas & Irinis

The Holy Monastery of Agios Raphael, Nikolaos and Irini is one of the seven monasteries located in the area between Pyrgetos and Aigani in the Prefecture of Larissa, built at the foot of Mount Olympus overlooking the sea.

The construction of the Holy Monastery began on June 7, 2003 after donations from the faithful of the area and the inauguration took place five months later on October 18, 2003 by His Eminence the Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnavos Ignatios.

Church of Agios Georgios

In the Center of Pyrgetos is the Church of Agios Georgios. It is unique in the area of ​​Romanian style. Tradition preserves that it was made by Ali Pasha in 1799.

Holy Monastery of Agios Nikodemos of Mount Athos

The Monastery of Agios Nikodemos of Mount Athos was founded in 2011, with the encouragement and blessing of the Blessed Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnavos Ignatius. It is located at the foot of Mount Olympus between the villages of Pyrgetos and Aigani at an altitude of 300 meters. With its gaze it embraces part of Kato Olympus, the North side of Kissavos, the Delta of the river Pinios and a large part of Thermaikos gulf.
